For me, it's enough that the final result is free. We don't reject software written on Windows or OSX that runs on Debian because it was written on Windows, we do so if we can't run it (or don't have tools to run it). Similarly, I don't see any reason to reject free works because they came from somewhere non-free, so long as we have tools to edit them. Inkscape does a great job with editing SVGs, so I think that's enough. Paul
