FWIW, it occurred to me about a week ago that, although we've been discussing a question that has implications for all of Debian ports (even if the current ballot only considers the Linux ports), at no time has the TC actually asked the Hurd and FreeBSD porters for input - aside from those who have found their own way to this bug. Considering that some of the discussions have made assumptions about what the porters will be inclined to implement given a particular decision by the TC, I think this is an oversight that we should correct by explicitly reaching out to the porter lists. -- Steve Langasek Give me a lever long enough and a Free OS Debian Developer to set it on, and I can move the world.
