OTOH I'm eagerly awaiting the TC's decision[s] because it will likely
influence the direction of the non-Linux ports.

If Upstart had won somehow, most people working on GNU/kFreeBSD seemed
willing to adopt it on those grounds.  But it no longer seems the likely
choice for GNU/Linux.

And assuming systemd wins, a policy decision on dependencies and level
of coupling may lead to ports either supporting or dropping certain
packages, or a whole desktop environment.

IMHO it was a little frustrating that Ian's ballot couldn't go ahead
last week and reach a consensus on both issues.
