【第三届 Debian 研讨会(DebConf 3)的最新消息】 Tollef Fog Heen 发布了一份关于
第三届 Debian 研讨会(DebConf3)的[5]最新消息。研讨会将于07月18日到20日于挪威
的Oslo 举行，紧邻本会议之前，DebCamp 将于07月12日到17日登场。DebCamp 会针对
较急迫的问题进行处理，例如 debian-installer 或重要的 bug。若天气许可的话，晚
上我们会用来烤肉、和户外的蚊虫为伴，以及进行其它有趣的活动。非常感谢 HP 及

【升级之后字型变丑】 Andreas Tille [7]注意到 Emaces
在状态栏、选单等处的字型都很丑陋，其他重要的功能也受到影响而几乎无法使用。
Ian Wienand [8]报告说造成问题的套件似乎是 gsfonts-x11，在移除这个套件后他的
字型看上去和以前一样了。Branden Robinson [9]解释说大家看到的丑陋的字型是和
XFree86 一起发布的新的 Type1 Helvetica 字型。把这个字型移除，或是把它移到字
型列表的最下面都能解决这个问题。

【大事记】 有人在[10]讨论 Debian 是不是该包含一个记载 Debian 重要日子的大事
记（是否包含在 bsdmainutils 中皆可），如发行日期、重要开发人员过世的日子等。
如果您希望透过 calendar 来了解一些特别的日子，有三个公用的[11]纪念日资料档可
用。Bob Proulx [12]建议制作一个套件，利用 cronjob 来提醒使用者这些特别的日
子，不过许多人反对这个做法。

【GNU 的 GPL 和 OPL】 Tatsuya Kinoshita（木下達也）
[13]怀疑 [14]Open Publication License（OPL）和 [15]GNUGPL 是否相容。他引述了
OPL 中的一段，而这个部份和 GPL 似乎并不相容。他也希望Debian 的 [16]网页从现
行的采用 OPL 授权，改为用 OPL 和 GNU GPL 两种授权方式并行。

【将文件档包装成独立套件】 Andreas Tille [17]想知道是否有明文规定何时应该将
文件档从套件中独立出来，制作成另一个套件。Oliver Elphick[18]解释说许多人只
想安装某套件，但不需要它的相关文件。将文件档独立成另一套件的目的，是要减少这
些朋友下载套件的时间。不过增加套件的数量会增加伺服器的负担，因此我们得要在这
两者间找到平衡点。

【新的波兰文翻译计画】 Bartosz Fenski [19]宣布（波兰文）一个新的翻译计画
[20]Polish Debian Documentation Project（PDDP）正式开始运作。现在 PDDP
中没有 Debian 开发人员，不过这个状况似乎将有改变。这个团队的主要目标是要将
Debian 文件翻译为波兰文，并协助 DWN 的翻译工作。他们现在正在翻译
[21]Debian 参考手册（Debian Reference）。

【BTS 的 Confirmed 标签】 Anthony Towns
[22]宣布新增了一个『confirmed』标签供套件维护者在错误追踪系统（bug
tracking system，BTS）中使用。这个标签是表示维护者已收到并了解该
bug，并且基本上同意这个 bug 的存在，但是尚未修正它。因此，被标为
『unreproducible』或『moreinfo』的 bug 基本上不会被标为『confirmed』。
被标为『help』的 bug 则要视所需要的协助而定。BTS 的 [23]搜寻功能可以用来列出
一个套件的 confirmed、 un-confirmed 和被标上其它标签的 bug。

【套件尚未进入 testing 的原因】 Bj□n Stenberg [24]写了一个分析
[25]update_excuses.html 和 [26]update_output.txt的[27]命令稿（script），来为
『为什么某套件尚未进入 testing？』这样的问题提供较易于理解的答案（human-
readable answers）。输入套件名称后，这个命令稿就会告诉您为什么该套件
还没进入 testing。举例来说，它会告诉你 libbonoboui 在等 gnome-vfs2，在后者又
在等 fam。

【DBD::mysql 的版权问题?】 Steve Langasek 的一个[34]错误报告（bug report）引
起了一连串的[35]讨论：如果一个命令稿（script）使用自由软体授权的解译器
（interpreter）和函式库，但是它使用和 GPL 不相容的授权方式的话，Debian
是否可以纳入这个程式？因为新的 libmysqlclient12 套件使用 GPL 授权，如果有以
不相容于 GPL 的方式授权的程式使用 libdbd-mysql-perl（DBD::mysql）的话，会违
反 libmysqlclient12 的授权方式。

【用 GNU FDL 对付 GNU FDL】 Peter Galbraith [36]建议在 Emacs info
档中加入一个恒常章节(invariant section)，在其中向大家解释为何文件作者不该采
用 [37]GNU Free Documentation License（FDL）。不过，Brian M. Carlson [38]说
Debian 无法合法地[39]包含这样子的 info 文件。因为 GNU FDL 和 GPL 不相容，从
采 GNU FDL 授权的 textinfo 原始码来产生 info 文件都是不被允许的。

【GNU Emacs 中有 non-free 的元件？】 J廨□e Marant [40]怀疑两篇随著 GNU
Emacs 发行的[41]文[42]件使用 non-free 的授权方式。这两个档案和 FSF
网页上的档案内容有点不同。有人认为这两个是声明（manifesto）而不是一般的文
件，因此，『不能修改它们的内容』应该是可接受的。

[43]想知道若不用人工检视整个文件档，是否有办法判断该档案所使用的编码方式。
