Comments/Problems:

During a default install the user is unable to select a timezone outside the Country specified during the keyboard/locale setting. In our case we are located in Canada, but our systems use UTC time. This can be worked around by using the expert install.

During tasksel process, if I select only the "Standard" package I get:

[ Select and install software ]

==== 18%

Retrieving file 82 of 82

and it hangs. If I switch virtual consoles it appears that the process in hung on:
  perl -w /usr/sbin/dpkg-preconfigure --apt

if I kill that process id, the install continues, otherwise successfully.

Closing this report as there was no follow-up to my last mail and we have
seen no similar issues in the mean time.

Cheers,
