whoops, sorry, i was meaning that it's ok if you change the gtk-font-name variable inside gtkrc by yourself directly, but you have to press the "reload gtkrc" button to see effects. Of course scripts by Frans have effects on this app as they modify the gtkrc file! :)
Note that if you run the scripts from VT2, you need to do an 'export DEBIAN_FRONTEND=gtk' first because that is not set outside the d-i environment.
Yes, you should run those scripts from VT2, but you shouldn't need to do that DEBIAN_FRONTEND export as that env variable affects cdebconf only and the test app is a crude GTK app only.
