Yes, please don't bloat the default system any more than necessary. I see some added value for firefox as it is very well known and for some websites one browser will work better than an other.
ACK. Mozilla and Firefox are more fault tolerant and I know examples where Konqueror does not render large parts of webpages (with validation errors), where Moz and FF do. But I know people using Konqueror for anything. IMHO its not necessary to install FF additionally per default if Konqueror is present.
But having multiple MUA's seems redundant.
Same as above. Kmail of KDE seems very usable for general purpose. Many people will install their favorite MUA afterwards, e.g. I use both - Thunderbird and Kmail.
