When trying to boot from linux26 or expert26 on the Dell the PC freezes
completely without further notice. The only way to restart the process is to
switch off the laptop.

  The freeze happens after loading the modules. The last message on the scr=
een
says the following:

Detecting hardware to find CD-ROM drives
Then a progress bar at 96 %
Starting PC Card services....

 I have also tried expert26 unloading all modules. The PC still freezes at =
the
same point (only the status bar says 4% in that case since I unchecked all=
=20
modules).

  This stage is acomplished sucessfully with linux24, although I have not
completed the installation since I want a 2.6 kernel on the laptop.

TIA.

  I have noticed that the Sarge installer (beta 4) I used was outdated. Thi=
s=20
happened because the spanish page for http://cdimage.debian.org/pub/
cdimage-testing/sarge_d-i/i386/rc1/sarge-i386-netinst.iso  is not updated a=
nd=20
the link does not point to the latest version.=20

  Yesterday I downloaded the RC1 version of the installer and today I could=
=20
install Debian Sarge sucessfully in a D800 Dell. Now I am still completing=
=20
the installation to have a graphical environment.=20

Osamu,

  I did not need to download the patched installer image at http://
people.debian.org/~osamu/pub/ . Thank you very much for your help.

Please close this bug.=20

thanks again and regards
