Re: architectures status

Hi Joey,

* Joey Hess <joeyh@debian.org> [2003-12-09 22:53]:

| current status is (boots to main menu, some successful installs,
| whatever), and what you expect the status to be in approximatly 2 weeks.

I guess we have the following PowerPC status (please correct me, if this
is wrong at any point):

- NewWorld PowerPC's are well supported (Apple)
- OldWorld PowerPC's are _not_ supported (because we need a floppy boot
  method here)
- Pegasos is supported, if the new kernels escape from NEW (Sven?)
- IBM RS/6000 machines (Chrep): should be supported, I'm working on a
special kernel build here at the moment. (direkt cdrom is maybe also
  possible)
- PReP machines are completly unsupported

(unsupported means here, you can simply download one of the d-i images
and install a system)

Some things about PA-RISC/HPPA:
I have tested it on some HP9000 machines (eg 9000/60, 9000/80) and the
installer works fine (some minor issues need to be fixed here: fdisk,
palo). But the system is installable.

I hope, everything is correct in the lists above.

Bye
Thorsten
