Oh, that's true. YOu need to just make the custom boot disk and not
touch the mbr or else configure lilo.conf manually -- I know that
kinda sucks but we don't have a good tool for configuring lilo.conf.

That is very damn odd.
BTW, you can mount DOS as vfat, can't you, which does long file names?

It should. in fact, I've never heard of anyone else having this
problem. I am stumped.
