Backport: wget issue

Hello,

I was recently trying to install Calibre e-reader (http://calibre-ebook.com/download_linux). Using wget as it recommends issues an error. I found an alternate method using curl -L. I took it to the debian support IRC channel, and Ben Armstrong (SynrG) advised to message debian-backports@lists.debian.org. Ben Armstrong confirmed it works on wget 1.15-1:
<SynrG> ah
<SynrG> ,v wget
<judd> Package: wget on i386 -- squeeze: 1.12-2.1; wheezy: 1.13.4-3+deb7u1; jessie: 1.15-1; sid: 1.15-1
<SynrG> probably:
<SynrG> wget (1.14-3) experimental; urgency=low
<SynrG>   * build with GNUTLS 3.2 (libgnutls28-dev) to fix some https problems.
<SynrG>     closes: #707555, #652480
<SynrG> i.e. jessie version is likely ok
*he goes on to test it*
<SynrG> michael_debian: yeah, 1.15-1 has no problem with: wget -nv -O- https://github.com/kovidgoyal/calibre/raw/master/setup/linux-installer.py
<SynrG> you can cite that forum post and mention i confirmed it for you on wget 1.15-1. mention me by name (see /whois synrg)

Here is a forum post with the solution, and another linux user having a problem: http://www.mobileread.com/forums/showthread.php?p=2791009#post2791009

Here are the official download instructions: http://calibre-ebook.com/download_linux

So I guess I'm requesting a backport? I hope I'm doing this right.
