 The dsc file is about the source and thus not architecture specific.
Also, if you need someone to sponsor your upload the source package is
enough, your mentors won't need any deb files, can't use them anyway
because they have to rebuild the source themself.

 Producing binaries for yourself is good and required because you are
expected to test them, though.
