The upstream MIDAS page [1] tells clearly that ESO-MIDAS is GPL. I also
got a confirmation in a personal mail from Pascal Ballester:

"I understand that you are working on including MIDAS in Debian and
possibly other distributions. I should make you aware that although
distributed under GPL, there is no support and maintenance for the MIDAS
code from ESO side. While we try to keep MIDAS compilable on new Linux
distributions, there is no guaranteed support for this."
