I think, in general, the answer is no. The image that Martin maintains
on his web site is for etch (stable), and only works if the root
partition of the slug is sda1 (the default for guided partitioning
with the installer). If you are running unstable (currently 2.6.21),
or have different partitions, then that image may not work for you.

These are reasons why I keep a backup of the flash for my stable slug
on a separate machine - that and my stable slug has a root partition
on LVM, so that image wouldn't work for me anyway.
