Well, it causes this actual package to be installed:
linux-image-2.6.24-23-generic
But, I guess now that is like Debian's -i386 package.
I think what confused me was the package description:
Package: linux-image-2.6.24-23-generic
...
Description: Linux kernel image for version 2.6.24 on x86/x86_64
This package contains the Linux kernel image for version 2.6.24 on
x86/x86_64.
...
I read that as 32/64 biarch support.
Thanks and sorry for the noise,
-Brett.
