I have 1GB ram and I burn multiple full DVDs a week, and I still don't
see much swap use:

That's with 40 days uptime and having burned probably 12 DVDs in that
time. Then again I don't actually have anywhere near 1GB in use so the
memory system is hardly under any pressure.
