Are there some parameters (which and where) to be set in order to solve this?
If you are using nvidia kernel module, you should never use nvidia specific kernel fb support, as it is not AFAIK compatible with each other. Use CONFIG_FB_VESA and your problem is probably solved. (It worked at least for me on several machines with GeForce video cards). Vit
