Everything from howto is done setp by step

> be something in /var that you have to mount (lock, run, cache, tmp?),

KDE creates all files in user's directory and /tmp. I haven't found any
interesting things in /var

Other applications (mozilla, OpenOffice, thunderbird) can be run in chroot
without any problem
