Hi Len, hi all,

now my system seems to work (don't know whether it will be stable). Here is,
what I did:

I bought an ide disk and installed it with the sarge-i386-1.iso and
2.6.8-kernel, installed the module sata_sis. After that I could
partition /dev/sda and copy my /dev/hda to it.
I asked ASUS for drivers and got this answer:
...
here is the SIS SATA driver for different Linux core :
http://driver2.sis.com/linux/raid/sis18x_2.6.10_1.00.00.tgz
http://driver2.sis.com/linux/raid/sis18x_2.6.9_1.00.00.tgz
but the onboard lan for K8S-MX ,no Linux driver now :(
...
I compiled a 2.6.10 kernel (without (M) DEVICE DRIVERS--> CHARACTER
DEVICES---> 3Dlabs, because it caused an error)
and the sis sata drivers and put the modules sata_sis, libata, scsi_mod and
sd_mod into /etc/mkinitrd/modules.

We had some problems with grub till everything was ok, but now it boots
from /dev/sda and hda is deinstalled.

Thank you everybody for your help!

Susanne
