AMD64 Debian-installer on Poweredge 2850

I am trying to install amd64 on a PowerEdge 2850, and am having problems with the RAID adapter. The scsi-extra-modules-2.6.8-10-amd64-generic-d package has the megaraid module, which it loads (but is the incorrect driver). What is the reason for either megaraid2 or megaraid_mbox not being included in the scsi-extra-modules-* package?

Is there another workaround known to get installed? The RC3 debian-installer works fine on the machine, but obviously installs x86 binaries.
