Pedro,

I just saw that there is a BIOS update (2.04) with a remark: "Update Silicon
Image Oprom to v5.048 to resolve some DOS & Linux compatibility issues"...
But could not find what that means...

I've just updated to this version, but did not see any differences... I've
installed in December on my Tyan K8W with the net install disk without
problems on a SATA system with a Maxtor 6B200M0... the
vmlinuz-2.6.10-9-amd64-k8-smp (-4) kernel reboots after detecting the SATA
disks, but 2.6.8 runs fine. (the first revision of this 2.6.10 kernel worked
too...)

Anyway, I've been running the pure64 for two months in a production
environment and I'm very happy with it. So, don't give up :)

Egon
