Well, if you are doing mirroring, then software raid doubles the bus occupation on writes. So, if your bus is 80MB/s, and your disks top at 60MB/s, with software mirroring, you top at 40 MB/s write performance, and with hardware mirroring at 80MB/s write. -- Lionel
