RE: Ramdisk for Jensen

Peter,

Thanks for the info, I believe I was able to install correctly. I marched
through the installation program, and arrived at the prompt for reboot. I
rebooted, and got to the SRM console, not unexpectedly. I am at a loss as to
what to do next.

I peered through the docs and tried several things:

>>> boot -fl "i" dka0
>>> boot -fl "1" dka0
(many other permutations and other commands from other docs that did not seem to
help the matter)

Both of these gave me the following:

...
aboot: valid disklable found: 3 partitions
aboot: don't know how to mount partition 2 (filesystem type 1)
Enter kernel name and arguments:

So, I tried:

aboot> 0/a root=/dev/fd0 load_ramdisk=1
(took me back to the installation program, maybe I should use a different RAM
disk? I tried the Jensen boot image and the Jensen rescue disk, but neither
helped)

aboot> 0/a root=/dev/sda load_ramdisk=1
(seems to go along well for a while then panics: Kernel panic: VFS: unable to
mount root fs on 08:00)

(I also tried without the load_ramdisk parameter or with the value set to 0)

I sure would appreciate any advice you have to offer. Thanks.

Good luck. If you use these instructions and trip over something, drop me a note
I may have seen it.
