Alright, that would indeed explain the change.

Feel free to send a patch to src:linux (they prefer to use
the BTS) setting it to an explicit ‘m’. Or, maybe, talk to
the Debian Linux kernel maintainers.

I think it's ok to get the driver merged first. I'm hoping that
Michael will again some time to finally merge the code :).
