Yes, 2.6 can be built with gcc 2.95 (I'm using a cross 2.95.2 myself). But
there's one asm file that needs a not-too-old binutils (read: more recent than
the release date of gcc 2.95).

Sorry, no idea. I don't have a Hydra. I get a few (like in: 2-3) hundred kB/s
on my Ariadne in a A4000/040.

In theory, this card is supported by cirrusfb. In practice, I don't know
whether it will still work. Just try, and it's a good sign Christian just got
one himself ;-)

So far the Mediator is not yet supported. But if someone writes the support,
at least some PCI cards should work with Linux/m68k.

Yep, that's for cirrusfb, which supports both Zorro cards (on Amiga) and PCI
cards (on systems with PCI). But since there's no PCI support for Amiga yet,
it's limited to Zorro cards for us.

In personal conversations with technical people, I call myself a hacker. But
when I'm talking to journalists I just say "programmer" or something like that.
