While I myself also don't think that eating meat as often as people do is a sustainable choice, it is not our role to make the world a better place through any other means than Free Software and Free ideas. Although there seems to be a large overlap between our freedom-oriented community and the community revolving around "all things sustainable", we certainly have others who have different opinions and make different choices. DebConf is not a forum for anything not related to Debian, and we cannot abuse it to enforce radical choices upon attendees, unless we want to decimate their number. That said, once we have the contract in place, we could and should work with the youth hostel to improve the offering and make sure we don't waste food. And I don't want to rule out that there will be days without meat, this is certainly not something we should sell as no-meat, but rather as yummy-food. I have asked the youth hostel to provide a short summary of their offerings. -- .''`. martin f. krafft <madduck@d.o> Related projects: : :' : proud Debian developer http://debiansystem.info `. `'` http://people.debian.org/~madduck http://vcs-pkg.org `- Debian - when you have better things to do than fixing systems "life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans." -- john lennon
