Ok, my previous question was not specific about the relationshop between local team and global team, but I agree with you.
I had a experience some years ago when I organized some nacional student meetings first in a local team and after in a nacional team. The help of the more experienced staff is very important

Sure, bring these experiences to here will be very usufull.
We have a strong free software community here in Brazil, but most people don't work with internacional groups.
Debian is one of the few groups that we have this kind of interaction.

Nice. :-)
It's a very interesting ideia

In Brazil we do not have large international IT companies, especially hardware manufacturers. We have some regional offices like Google and Microsoft.
Our hope is to bring with DebConf the attention of these companies too.

He have many local companies using free software or Debian specifically, but It's not usual they help the community. We really want to change this, showing how it works out there (iInternationally).

On the last two years in Brazil began a wave of hackathons where the personnel can work together to reach some objective.
We were always much more users than producers. Because of that, we are making events with much more "hands on" than only with lectures.

Sure, it's a nice brainstorm.
