I'd rather not volunteer right now. My task was to create time slots
and structure the days, and I am done with that. I will now remove
the DPL talk and make it a normal talk slot.

Don't schedule any talks in those then! ;)
My mandate was that there ought to be hack/free time and that time
must not clash with any events, so once I had the hack/free time
slotted, I made everything else potential talks slots.

Sure, but I think that the number of concurrent talks in a single
time slot should depend on the talk(s). For instance, closing and
opening ceremonies should be exclusive. Probably the DPL talk and
the DC15/DC16 events too. Most regular talks should not require
exclusivity.
