For those people who follow the actual wording in Penta and pay as much of the
travel costs as they can afford, 80% sponsorship is equivalent to 0%
sponsorship. For many of those who just ask for whatever they feel they can get
away with, 80% might be good enough, though less so for last-minute airfares.
I know people in both groups exist, but I'll yield to others' judgment as to
their relative frequencies and how to proceed here.
Richard's latest mail in this thread (from Fri Jun 15 14:56:22 -0400) suggests
that the situation is less dire than in the mail from Gaundenz to which you
replied.
