But I do think it falls outside what we > need for a DebConf. BTW when I asked in the DC13 presentation in Managua whether there might be room for a creche to be set up, I wasn't expecting anyone else to do the work -- I was rather hoping to be able to persuade my wife, Gunde, to come along, along with other parents of ~18-month-olds-by-then (i.e. Ganneff & Pei, Tolimar & Mika, Martin & Penny ...) We could then sort out some sort of rota between ourselves. That seems like enough of a critical mass to deal with the ~18month age group, of course the more the merrier -- if similar clusters of ages exist with enough parents to share the workload, then I'm sure they could do similar rotas, with cross-pollination to further spread the load. Of course, given the family-hostile accommodation that exists at Le Camp, and the fact that camping isn't sounding like it's going to be allowed (bizarrely), and the nearest alternative accommodation being miles away, and there apparently being nothing nearby for non-debianites to entertain themselves with, and it costing a fortune to be there, I doubt I'll manage to persuade Gunde to come under any circumstances, so it's probably not worth worrying about (for me at least). That seems like a shame, given that this being a European DebConf with a bunch of new parents that would like to turn up, it might well have spawned a new DebConf tradition of being child-friendly, but the location seems impractical for that for a whole raft of reasons. Is it just me, or is this location actually impractical in general, rather than specifically for the parents among us? (the double-sized budget in the middle of a financial melt-down seems like reason enough to be suspicious, and every other aspect I've heard about it seems somehow problematic too).
