[Debconf-team] Today's front desk meeting

We had a front desk meeting immediately after today's general team meeting. Everyone stayed from the general meeting stayed on unless they were going to another team meeting at the same time.

Topics covered included:

- For now we're only giving food tickets, not t-shirts etc., so front desk is currently only food ticket distribution. However, we should at least start marking people as "arrived" in Penta.

- There will be a wiki page to sign up for shifts working on the front desk. For the main arrival periods we will need at least three people there, but at other times one or two is enough. Moray should send the link to the -discuss and -localteam mailing lists once this is ready.

- We plan to use just one tick box in penta to mark that we have distributed the bag/shirt/cup/etc., as marking several boxes introduces more errors into the system, as well as taking more time.

- Gunnar will ask Ganneff about getting the IRC bot working to announce arrivals.

- Everyone who plans to help on front desk (or in other ways) should try to subscribe to the debconf-team and debconf-discuss mailing lists
    http://lists.debconf.org/mailman/listinfo/debconf-team
    http://lists.debconf.org/mailman/listinfo/debconf-discuss
and also to join the #debconf-team IRC channel on irc.debian.org.

We will have a front desk training session in the next few days, but this might wait until we receive the conference bags.

Postscript: After the meeting we decided to distribute cups to early arrivals so that they can begin drinking water and coffee. A separate paper list is being kept of who has already taken a cup.
