Indeed. Our workshops are normally advertised to kids in the
10-16 years span, but turn out to have an 8-15 year span instead,
and that’s what we’d probably be aiming for. Our primary goal is,
after all, to build a community of kids around MINT and OSS, with
the kids being those who actually do things, and the adults only
helping out by organising, seeding knowledge, answering questions
the young tutors have, etc, not child care (for care of especially
younger children, you’d probably want people more experienced with
that anyway). The average age of our tutors is 12-13, AFAICT, and
the average age of attendees is usually just below 12 (see the
planung.txt file in our git repository¹ where this is calculated
per event), and this has worked out well so far.

This mostly depends on the size of the rooms, and the amount of
“personnel” we can get to DebConf. We need to contact our tutors
first, to ask who would want to come to DebConf, can come, and
of course whose parents permit that (plus, since FrOSCon is our
historycally biggest conference where we try to have everyone
participating, avoid burn-out, so we need to juggle a bit), but
as fallback, we can have sessions led by adult members. (Usually,
we do the introduction workshop already anyway, though we do have
junior members who I can imagine doing them.)

We’ll need to plan a bit internally, but I think we can give you
a rough estimate RSN when we know what rooms can be available.

To reach out, you’ll want artwork. If you want, have a look at
our git repository¹ for the already-existing artwork, we can make
some in a similar style, adapted for DebConf.

Another thing to think about: which language(s) are we covering?
Until now, our workshops have all been held in German only.
