I entirely agree with this.

In addition, I would guess that people who are looking at the Debian website are more than averagely likely to be aware of and bothered by the presence of google ads. Also they are more than averagely likely to be able to find the information that might be in the ads if they want it at all. I don't think having ads, especially google ads, is something that would enhance people's overall opinion of Debian.

(OT) Is information about Debian's financial status available publically? Where would I look to be able to form my own opinion as to whether an income stream from such ads, or from other sources, is needed?
