it IS the easiest solution... that doesn't make it the 100% right solution,
but we can't always get the absolutely correct solution all the time.

i entered the discussion right after thomas had sent his mail, and craig had
responded (in a somewhat harsh way... not all that unsurprising, really).
cue a few days later, and thomas had mostly piped down, but craig was still
at it. guess what.. i changed my mind. yes, thomas wasn't handling the
initial situation right, but craig was just straying further and further off
the sensibility chart.

now, quite a few people have gotten the idea i was jumping down thomas'
throat, right along with craig. i wasn't. and just to make it absolutely
clear, i apologize to thomas for any misunderstanding may have arisen along
the way. i opposed him posting to debian-devel about craig's private mail,
that is all. no more, no less, and i hope thomas isn't harbouring any hard
feelings.

decency is also one thing that differ from person to person. an atheist can
make a die-hard christian bust a nut (...ow...) by just going "who?" when
asked about christ. others, in turn, are excessively thick-skinned. finding
a correct path for everyone is very hard, which is why there are so few
diplomats, and so many wars/flamefests around. that will never change,
simply because we *are* an cooperative anarchy. we can try to improve it,
yes.. but we'll probably never succeed 100%.

When you are having a bad day, and it seems like everybody is trying to piss
you off, remember that it takes 42 muscles to produce a frown, but only 4
muscles to work the trigger of a good sniper rifle.
