ELF Information

I have finally found an ELF specification that we can reference. It is titled

	    Tool Interface Standard (TIS)
	Executable and Linking Format (ELF)
	          Specification
	           Version 1.2
	            (May 1995)

The copyright on the document seems to allow us to reference it. There is a
link to this on the specification sub-page of the website.

Is anyone aware of a more recent version of this a document, or of a more
complete specification?

Based on this document, I have gone through, and identified most of the
GNU and Linux specific additions/extensions to the base ELF specification.
The LSB spec should reflect everything that I have discovered so far. There
are a lot of things that still need either a formal spec to reference, or a
well written descritpion for inclusion in our spec.

The application checker has also been modified to reflect the additions
to the spec.

I would appreciate comments on this, and especially any pointers to additional
standard, or formal description of the things that need them.
