This is not the right solution to the available file problem.
Since the policy engine was added the available file is fully dynamic and
is based on all sorts of user configurable things. If you want accurate
information then you must run a program to get it. Due to this is not a
good idea to make more things rely on the file.
The best thing is to add a file to the dselect method directory like
'get-avail' that dselect and others can call to get the available file.
