Testing results for 2.3.1-1 (downgraded due to problems found):

 - when using DVI-cable (via DVI-to-HDMI adapter) X doesn't appear on 
the screen (don't remember whether box hangs or not);

 - the following steps cause machine to hang: startx, exit session, 
startx again; when X runs text/graphics mode can be freely switched with 
no problems, but once X is stopped, next attempt to start it would hang 
the box;

 - starting second X is pretty unstable, it worked once or twice, but 
most time machine simply hangs ("startx" and "startx -- :1"; no display 
manager);
