Testing results for 2.2.1-2 (currently at held state):

 - there are two users on my box, hence I run two X servers ("startx" 
and "startx -- :1"; no display manager); first X runs smoothly, has 3D 
and XVideo, but second lacks 3D and feels more sluggish (screen updates 
more slowly, that is, for example, opening GNOME menus would left some 
areas unpainted for about half a second, sometimes there is an 
interlace-like effect, sometimes text caret doesn't blink and disappears);
