No. I have no idea why it wasn't enabled, and no real idea of where to start, short of breaking out LXR and a debugger. But I'm not an xorg hacker, and delving into a codebase that size is just something I don't have time for.
But like I said, if you want me to do something to help *you* figure out why it wasn't working, let me know what it is.
I'm happy to try stuff out and report back with error messages, log file snippets, etc.... I just have to know what to try.
