Package: xterm
Version: 4.3.0.dfsg.1-4
Severity: normal

I have the following problem:

I log from an xterm via ssh to a NetBSD/sparc-1.5 where my mutt
(version 1.5.6 compiled with ncurses) runs inside a GNU screen
(version 4.00.02).

mutt outside a screen running on the NetBSD machine correctly
displays threads in mutt similar to
|->
| |->
|->

But running mutt inside a GNU screen results in the following thread
display:
tq>
x mq>
tq>

Downgrading xterm to 4.3.0.dfsg.1-1 fixes this issue.

Ah, thanks.

It was fixed in the NetBSD 1.87 file on Tue Mar 16 2004 with the
following changelog entry:

<--  snip  -->

Add enable ACS (eA) capability to our xterm entry. The xterm shipped
with Xfree 4.4.0 needs this.
Fixes PR lib/24770 by Matthias Scheler.

For the record:
For the NetBSD 1.6 branch, it's fixed in revision 1.68.2.7 .
There don't seem to be a fix for the 1.5 branch, but I'll ask the admins
to locally apply it on the machines I've observed this problem on.

I'm closing this bug.
