Bug#186729: xdm: dpkg --configure xdm gives message on kdm then halts

Hi Chris!
The whole XF86Config-4 breakage is probably at the centre of your
problems; do things start to work (via dpkg --configure xdm) if you
unbreak XF86Config-4?

If so, the config script should probably be fixed.
