Can't you just do a <:=spokendate($(PUBDATE)):> or similar? I think I used
something like that when I fiddled with using the DWN summaries as meta
description tags. Or perhaps the syntax was <:=spokendate("<PUBDATE>"):>
there, I do not remember.
