Please correct me if I'm wrong.

I posted my ITP for simpletal: Date: Thu, 26 Jun 2003 17:10:03 +0200
At that date I checked that there was no python-simpletal package.

Now Mr Akkerman has uploaded a python-simpletal package, changelog dated
Sat, 26 Jul 2003 12:37:33 +0200 (Don't know how to check when he first
uploaded...) And I'm positive that there was no python-simpletal when
I posted my ITP.

I do think that I did everything the "Debian Reference" way as stated on:
http://www.debian.org/doc/developers-reference/ch-pkgs.en.html#s-newpackage

1. I check the archive if the package was there. - not ther
2. Checked the ITP's - None
3. Posted a ITP - Done
4. Started to work on package. - Done
5. Sent it out to friends to test.. - Done

And now the work I have done with the python-simpltal package is redundant
with Mr Akkerman's upload to debian. As far as I can see I have not seen any
email to me or ITP from his part.

I feel kind of runned over by this. Could you please explain what I did wrong?
