I have a lot of thoughts about package pages, and this helped start putting
those thoughts into words. Specifically - should we delete package pages when
the package is removed from Debian?
To help answer the question, I looked for source packages that exist in any
version of Debian between hamm (2.0) and buster (10.0), but not in any version
between oldoldstable and sid. The list below includes pages with names that
are a case-insensitive match for those packages.
I've only had a quick look, but reasons to remove them include:
* they're by definition no longer about Debian
* they make the wiki look unmaintained
* they make it look like the packages are still supported
Reasons to keep them include:
* they might still be useful to someone
* some are just for packages that got renamed (e.g. apache -> apache2)
I plan to pick some of these randomly and propose deletion as appropriate,
but it's another "journey over destination" thing, so please review some to
firm up your own thoughts on the matter :)
