The worst case scenario is that the MoinMoin wiki content would be archived and read-only, so it's not like all is lost. Additionally, there was a point on the old wiki license discussion page that, since there's no explicit license, it might not even be legal to transfer (or backup) the wiki content to another host. IANAL though.

I'm slowly going to try and migrate content one page at a time through a mix of rewriting pages entirely to avoid copyright infringement and asking some contributors to relicense their contributions. I don't know how far I'll get, but it's a start.

In particular we would need to navigate it being overwritten by an import from the current wiki. Perhaps only in the Main namespace. But it would be best to avoid divergence at this early point until we've got more of a tangible roadmap for migration.

Maybe add a header for any pages that have been moved to the MediaWiki install that "this page has been migrated to wiki2025.debian.org"?

I'm currently also putting content on my own local MediaWiki instance to avoid interfering/conflicting with any plans and also as a backup for any of the stuff I've done. Will import to the new install when it's ready.
