unicorn:~$ ls -ld mtpt

unicorn:~$ sshfs remote: mtpt
unicorn:~$ ls -ld mtpt
drwxr-xr-x 1 greg greg 4096 Dec  6 23:09 mtpt/

FUSE changes a few things.
