Just because it works it doesn't meant it's the "correct" way. What if 
the user gets interrupted and forgets to remove the deb..unstable line?

It does (as has been demonstrated), just not with '-t unstable'.

Without previous knowledge of 'approx' it's pretty difficult to make the 
connection from some internal host name to a Debian package name.

Your tone appears to be condescending, which I'm sure you didn't mean 
to.
