I tried installing gcc 8 on buster. It needs cpp8 which needs libmrpfr6ie this
https://packages.debian.org/unstable/main/libmpfr6 which looks like its about being sid again.I need to go to dependency rehab and sing the dem bones song again.Suggestions on avoiding becoming sid/krankenhaus/unstable/12 step program welcome.RegardsMF
Then I guess you would have to compile the kernel from source, which
actually isn't too hard with make-kpkg (however I never tried to force
make-kpkg to use a certain, non-system-default compiler, but that's surely
possible).
