I have no idea what that means.  The way it normally works is that you
have a backup script run from cron and that script starts by creating
a snapshot (e.g. with `lvcreate -s`), backup that snapshot, then destroy
the snapshot.  As long as your backup script runs as root this is
very straightforward.
