Reboot is recommended whenever your kernel or some very basic library
is upgraded (otherwise the machine keeps running the old binary).

Plus it makes sense, just because if your machine becomes unbootable after
the upgrade, you'd notice right away and not weeks after, when you don't
expect it.

So I'd say: you don't need to reboot right away, but schedule a reboot
at some convenient time "soonish".
